Summit Learn has worked with our partners to create thousands of hours of authentic content that can be personalized and adapted to learners’ needs. We can use custom content from your institution and turn it into dynamic lessons and activities.
Our experienced team of developers will create a strategy that incorporates:
Objectives of the curriculum
The intended curriculum is the documented, official plan — or what students will learn, and the achieved curriculum which includes knowledge, skills and attitudes that are truly learned, remembered and applied.
Creation of Scope and Sequence
Scope specifically refers to the breadth of the curriculum the organizing threads that constitute the skills and content that teachers are expected to include in their instruction. Sequence refers to how these skills and subject matter should be ordered. The two concepts work in synchronization because decisions related to scope have implications for sequencing and decisions related to sequencing have implications for scope. In each case, wider concerns about the coherence and continuity of the curriculum are at stake, as are the efficiency and educative power of the school experience.
When developing or revising a curriculum, curriculum maps or matrices can help educators concretely describe the sequence of courses/content and more easily conceptualize how different pieces of the curriculum work together as a whole. They can also identify gaps in a curriculum or a need to re-think course sequencing.
Defining the teaching approach
The term Teaching method refers to the general principles, pedagogy and management strategies used for classroom instruction. Your choice of teaching method depends on what fits you — your educational philosophy, classroom demographic, subject area(s) and school mission statement. Teaching theories primarily fall into two categories or “approaches” — teacher-centered and student-centered.
Building the student learning platform
Summit Learn developed its own proprietary Learning Management System, called ‘Summit Learn PRO.’ Summit Learn PRO. is not just an elearning tool, and it is not just a single product – it is a product that was designed to be delivered as an ecosystem of features and modules that can be enabled or disabled per customer requirements. It is extendable and flexible, with a component based architecture. This unique approach means companies can rapidly extend and scale their solution according to needs. What’s more, Summit Learn PRO. can easily be integrated with your existing IT systems (HR, CRM and other preferred platforms) via an API system.
Build the outcomes and reporting components
Learning outcomes and competencies describe specific measurable skills, knowledge or attitudes that learners will have achieved through the education program. The term “outcome” is usually used to describe the level of proficiency that a student should be expected to demonstrate, while “competencies” is typically used to describe a level of proficiency.
Summit Learn will work with your team to develop a comprehensive framework that incorporates your learning goals. And with our vast experience in education services, we can help build in a future proof strategy that protects you as a business and prepares you to move forward with confidence.
